~A Christian~ (A reading for Christians)


Introduction

This write-up is an inspiration that I got from God. This is meant for those who are already a Christian. If you are non-Christians and unclear about anything I mentioned, feel free to ask. This write-up is meant to summarise what does it mean when you say "I am a Christian". God gave me 3 points. 

1. WHO are we? 

2. WHAT are we supposed to do as a Christian? 

3. HOW should we live as a Christian?

The strange thing is that God only gave me these 3 points, but not the details. So, I am trying my best to fill it up and I hope that I will be on point.

WHO
Who are we?

Only in the recent years that I learnt not all are children of God. ALL are CREATION OF GOD, but only those who believed in Jesus Christ are called children of God. The word "Christians" is a title given to those who proclaim the Christian faith. But it does not mean they practice the Christian faith. Anyone can say "I am a Christian", but not everyone is living out their faith. The following are some Bible verses I found, that help us to see whether we are indeed children of God:

2 Corinthians 6:17-18
Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
>> Children of God are those who set themselves apart from the world. They no longer follow their worldly desires, but they commit themselves into following God's calling for them on this earth.

Galatians 3:26
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
>> Children of God are those who have called Jesus into their life, to be their God.

1 John 3:10
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
>> Children of God are those who follow God's commands. The greatest commandment is "Love God, and love others"

Romans 8:14
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God
>>Romans 8:14 cannot be clearer about who are the children of God. "Those who are led by the Spirit of God".. to reach that state, is not some godly level that you can achieve only after many years of practicing Christianity or many years of going to church. Being led by the Spirit is a decision you make daily. When can you start being led by the Spirit? TODAY! RIGHT NOW! 

Beware of reading the above as the "REQUIREMENTS" to be a child of God. Read Galatians 3:26, it is through faith that we become child of God. If the above are requirements to be a child of God, many of us would fail. The above verses pointed out the life of those who call themselves a child of God. It is not to point out the steps to be the child of God.

I don't want to be excited for Heaven

  I don't want to look forward to Jesus's Second Coming so that I can finally enter the New Heaven and Earth. I think if I have that mindset, I have missed the point of becoming a Christian.  Today as I was praying, I told God that I want to be excited for Heaven because I can finally be with God and be with Jesus! The Signs of the End Time as in the Days of Noah

 'But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 'Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. A Leader's Reflection

 We are all equal Some might do "bigger" things, some "smaller" things, but bottom line is that no one is greater or smaller in God's eyes. We are all equal.  This is my first reflection write-up.
