Fruits Of The Spirit (How Do You Know That You Are Saved?)


Galatians 5:22-23
'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. '

God gives us a lot of signs that we can watch out for, to know whether we have
the saving faith. Though the signs are not a sure guarantee that we will go to Heaven,
they make a good indicators of our spiritual state.

The bottom line is, Christ must live in us and we in Christ.

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; ...."
Galatians 2:20

One of the telltale signs that I would like to discuss here is the
FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT.

What is in our hearts, will be apparent in our outward lives.
It has been said in Jeremiah that “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked; Who can know it?' (Jeremiah 17:9) It says that what is inside our heart, no other humans can guess it. Well, to
some certain extent it is true. But we can make a good guess what is in someone's heart by the character
and actions.

“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit. ..." Luke 6:43-44

"tree" = our heart
"fruit" = our character and deeds

If you want to know what is in your heart, whether or not is the Spirit of God or other kind of spirit, look at your character and actions. 

Do you love others?

Do you have joy?

Do you have peace?

Are you longsuffering? (def. having or showing patience in spite of troubles, especially those caused by other people)

Do you show kindness to others?

Do you possess goodness?

Are you faithful?

Do you show gentleness?

Do you have self-control?

All these qualities is not "achieve 5 out of 9 to get a pass" thing. 
As long as the true God's Spirit in us, ALL 9 qualities should be showing in your deeds.
BUT! these qualities do not come by, all at one go. We are not a robot that God would calibrate our attributes to the maximum level. 


The Holy Spirit will put us through different events in life to build up all these 9 qualities. The important thing to note is that all these 9 qualities have to increase (slowly or quickly).

Why is ensuring that the Holy Spirit dwell in us so important? There are some people who actually do not believe in the Holy Spirit. There are some people who do not understand the mystery of the Spirit and live their "Christian" life without Him. I would say that that is the biggest mistake they are making. Because born of the Spirit is a "requirement" to be included into the Kingdom of God. Please note that the Kingdom of God is NOT Heaven. But that is a topic that I would write about, another day. 

'Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water
and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. '
                                                                 John 3:5

If anyone would ask me what is the most important aspect of God's Spirit living in us,
I would say it is that The Holy Spirit gives me hope, strength and faith to persevere
in my faith until I die.

I don't want to be excited for Heaven

  I don't want to look forward to Jesus's Second Coming so that I can finally enter the New Heaven and Earth. The Signs of the End Time as in the Days of Noah

 'But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. A Leader's Reflection

 We are all equal Some might do "bigger" things, some "smaller" things, but bottom line is that no one is greater or smaller in God's eyes. We are all equal.  This is my first reflection write-up. I want to do this to journal what I learnt from the Lord and my fellow brothers and sisters-in Christ. Recently, there is an incident that happened in my cell group.
