Condemnation No More

1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, Gal. 5:16who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.Gal. 5:16who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.Gal. 5:1 who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

What do we learn when we become Christian?

"Congratulations! Now you are saved!"

Or is it?? I am always intrigued by the concept of Christianity's salvation. Many many many people have misunderstood. They misunderstood this simple concept at such a dangerous level that they thought they are saved, while actually, they are not.

Even for me, I always read the salvation theory as :
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." FULL STOP. Our brain choose to stop reading after "in Christ Jesus".  In my defence, I did not purposely ignore the continuation of that sentence. I guess, when we become new Christians, this is what we learnt. So, a lot of young Christians, new Christians stop their spiritual journey at saying out the Sinners' Prayer. They thought after accepting Christ, they are saved.

So I would like to point out in BIG LETTERS :

NO Condemnation... for who??

1. those who are IN CHRIST JESUS. (this is when you accept Christ into your life. Yes correct, this is the step where you said the Sinners' Prayer)

2. those who DO NOT WALK ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, BUT ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT.

"those who do not walk according to the flesh".. WOW!!! I tell you the truth, only today, TODAY! my eyes are opened to this continuation!! I read it so many times, but only today! this caught my attention!

I would say that "walking according to the Spirit" is a response to the fact that Christ is in us.

Without having Christ in us, there is no way we can stop walking according to our flesh. The desires of our flesh is so strong.. It wants to be gratified.

Not walking according to the flesh means, we die and Christ lives. We no longer live for ourselves. We live for God and for others. What the flesh wanted; lying, betraying, cheating, addiction, unfaithfulness, sexual immorality, gossiping, blaming others, slacking, caring for oneself, etc, we will no longer follow it. We move according to what God wants from us.

For John 3:6those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, (Gal. 5:22–25)the things of the Spirit. 6For Gal. 6:8to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because James 4:4the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, 1 Cor. 2:14nor indeed can be. 8So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
