Irony: Money will chase you when you don't want it

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.”[a]

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

2 Corinthians 9:6-11

One of the weird thing about being a Christian is that when you hate money, money will love you. Well.. I think that statement is a bit of an exaggeration. But read on....

We are living on this world, cursed to labor the land in order to have food. But God is generous, He promised all His children that He will take care of our basic needs. 

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

Not everyone will have abundant riches, but everyone who rely on Christ, will never lack of basic needs. What are our basic needs? Food, clothes and shelter. But of course, saying it is easier than doing it. I can tell you, "Don't worry about money, God will provide." But will you be able to instantly stop worrying about money, when you have a few dollars in your bank account and it is still a week left before your pay comes in? Of course not, no one can. So, what should we do then? PRAY. PRAY. PRAY x 10000000000000000000000000000

Pray that God will take away your worry for money. Tell Him that you want to have faith and believe that He is our Provider. Say it and mean it. After saying it, don't go around sighing over your bank book anymore. I believe that the Holy Spirit is there beside you, ready to give you comfort and assurance as soon as you turn to Him and SEEK HIM. I don't think I can convince anyone who is reading this that it is possible to stop worrying for money. Well.. I am still going to say it. IT IS POSSIBLE TO STOP WORRYING ABOUT MONEY. One powerful prayer or proclamation that you can say when you are ready to let God take over your bank book : 

"Lord, please take away my worries over money, I want to proclaim in Jesus name that money is not going to rule my life anymore! I want to proclaim in Jesus Name that I do not want more money, I do not want any of things on Earth. I want You to give me Heavenly things. I desire for Heavenly gifts. I do not want worldly materials anymore!"

Looks scary? Yes it is.. You are actually saying that you do not need money while living in the most expensive city in the world. But I assure you, when you turn your focus to God, God will never let you go hungry. I am not saying that after proclaiming the above, you should stop working hard, since God is providing for us. No.. not at all.. On the contrary, you have to work harder in your work place. Because when you start looking up to the Lord, you will desire to do EVERYTHING for God's glory. You will want to do the things in your office, at your best. When your heart is ready to proclaim the above, God will renew your heart, God will send His Spirit to you to assure you that your basic needs will be met, and more.

Now... you have stopped worrying for money, you see that God blesses you with financial blessings out of His riches.. What do you do now? GIVE! Do not be like the "Rich Fool" (Luke 12:13-21). You have to freely give as God freely gives you. Do not forget to give thanks. Remember to be humble, as our riches comes from Him. Be generous, especially to God's servants. You will be amazed how worldly materials will magically follow you when you renounce them. It is the most weird thing ever. But trust me, when you do not want worldly materials, they somehow follow you. You will run away from them, but they will chase you even harder. You will be blessed in everything you do and you will always have food on the table. I pray that whoever is reading this, will be blessed abundantly. But the most important thing to take note, IN EVERYTHING, GIVE THANKS. You might not have abundant riches, but our purpose on this earth is not to gather riches of the world, but we are to gather the Heavenly treasures. We can't bring money to our grave, but God will count the Heavenly treasures that we gather.

Let's Pray

Dear Lord, I am troubled by my financial situation. I cannot see a way out and I am at my wit's end. I don't see a purpose in this life anymore and I feel so useless. God, but I want to proclaim to You today that I want to let you take over my life. God! Hear my cry, look at how heavy my burden is! You promise us that You will provide for us. Therefore, I want to claim that promise O'Lord! Please take away my burden, give me Your wisdom on how to solve my financial problems. Give me strength to wake up every morning to face the day. Please help me. Before I go out to face this world, let me come into your presence to withdraw strength and physical energy from You. Carry me today O'Lord! Let me see You and experience You today. I surrender my life into Your hands. From this second onwards, my life is not mine anymore, but it is Yours. Use me as You will. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!

Self-Reflect

1. Have you given thanks to the Lord for this day that He has made? If you cannot find anything to thank for, how about thanking Him for the air that we are breathing today. How about thanking Him that you can read this now, that you have computer and that you can read.

2. This holiday season, all of us are busy buying gifts for our friends and family. Think of a person, who is less privileged, and give him/ her a present that you know he/ she cannot repay you back. 

Writer's Note: 

The reason why God ensure that our basic needs are met, is because He doesn't want us to worry about our basic needs. The reason why He doesn't want us to worry about the basic needs, is because He wants us to focus on doing His works. 

When I typed the "Let's Pray" section, I can feel the Holy Spirit is controlling the words that I type. The prayer above is not what I intended to type at all. I believe that God is trying to reach to someone who is reading this. If you are the one, hey, listen, God is talking to you! God always watches us, He cares about us. When I was typing the prayer, my heart feels troubled and desperate for God. So I think someone here is at his/ her wit's end. I want you to know that God is just right there.. The God, the Superior Being, the One that can instantly create all the things in this universe, is right there beside you. You just have to call upon God, say the above prayer and watch God's miracle unfold before your eyes.
